Durham Auto Club’s Wearside Targa Rally returns on Sunday 7 September 2025, with the event based at the Nissan Sports & Social Club near Sunderland.
The Wearside Targa offers a full day of timed tests and navigation challenges for crews in everything from everyday saloons to classic rally cars.
Competitors will tackle a series of timed tests, each designed to reward precision and consistency rather than outright speed. The event welcomes both seasoned competitors and those new to targa rallying, with clear instructions and a friendly atmosphere throughout. Entries are filling up quickly and are expected to reach capacity ahead of the closing date, Wednesday 27 August at 6pm.

Durham Auto Club welcomes offers of help from anyone interested in marshalling on the day. No previous experience is needed and full instructions will be provided. Anyone wishing to volunteer or find out more about the event is invited to contact the club through their website.
