The Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally takes place on Saturday 13 September 2025, celebrating its 50th anniversary in the forests around Castle Douglas. The rally has strong ties to the Association of North East and Cumbria Car Clubs, with Solway Car Club taking a leading role in running one of Scotland’s most celebrated gravel events.
Solway Car Club has worked tirelessly to make this year’s event special, drawing on decades of experience and the support of volunteers who give their time year after year. South of Scotland Car Club members will also travel to help marshal and support, showing the strength of commitment that links clubs across our region.
ANECCC clubs and competitors are ready for the challenge
The entry includes competitors from ANECCC member clubs including Ripon, De Lacy, Kirkby Lonsdale, Hexham and Malton, all set to tackle the classic gravel tests of Black Loch and Cairn Edward. Each stage runs twice in one direction and once in reverse, offering variety and a fair challenge while keeping the roads in excellent condition.

For ANECCC, this rally is about much more than competition. It highlights what clubs can achieve when they work together, and how our members contribute at every level of the sport. Whether preparing stages, marshalling, co-driving, or competing for championships, their commitment makes the Galloway Hills Rally the success it is.
As the 50th anniversary event approaches, we celebrate the role of Solway Car Club, the dedication of volunteers from across our association, and the determination of our competitors to make their mark in one of Scotland’s toughest gravel rallies.
Wishing every ANECCC club, competitor and volunteer involved a safe and successful Galloway Hills Rally.
